Big Brother has become such a hit in the whole world. Endemol, the maker of Big Brother, has tied up with international production outfits to launch local Big Brother in different countries. Such a country is the Philippines.
It is undeniable that Pinoy Big Brother has evolved into nothing less of a phenomenon. Each night, Pinoy Big Brother gets the highest audience share in Philippine television.
That is why there is no reason for the Pinoy Big Brother not to attract gambling fans out there. Pinoy Big Brother has become a target for gambling, may it be large-scale or at home gambling.
During the course of a Pinoy Big Brother Season, gambling fans bet weekly on who is going to be evicted from Big Brother's house. Deciding on who to bet on is an easy task for gambling fans, because out of the whole population of Big Brother housemates, usually only two or three are nominated for eviction.
On the weekly evictions, gambling fans may come up with their decision by asking people around them who they are going to vote. The text votes are vital because they determine who will stay inside the house. So you see, it is fairly easy to get a forecast of who will stay; you will just have to ask around.
This is an easy gambling activity because the outcome depends largely on public opinion. In boxing or basketball games, gambling players have fewer clues on who is going to win because the outcome depends on the players of those sports, not on the public.
Gambling fans can also base their decision on who they like the least among the nominees. Doing this gives them good chance of winning because members of the same society have similar opinions. Basically, the members of a given society hate the same kind of people, that is why you could predict who is going to be evicted.
As the Pinoy Big Brother Season progresses, the higher the stakes are, especially when it is down to the final four. Now gambling players will vote on who will be the Big Winner instead of who will get evicted. It would be harder to predict who is going to win at this stage of the contest. Why? First, it would be difficult to predict the winner since there are four people to choose from.
Second, it is naturally easier to pick who is going to get evicted than who is going to win. It is viewers' nature to single out who they hate rather than who they like. Lastly, remember that the final four outlasted the evicted ones. This means that they were either never nominated, or they just got higher votes than the evicted housemates. Either way, this means that the final four are all likeable ones.
